German municipal utilities group Trianel GmbH said on Thursday it has put into operation the 24-MW Gebersreuth wind farm in Thuringia state, east-central Germany.
The wind park in Thuringia-Saxony-Bavaria comprises eight Enercon E-115 turbines, the annual output of which is seen to be about 56 million kWh. The generated electricity is fed into the power network of utility Bayernwerk AG, part of energy group E.on SE (ETR:EOAN).
Building works were initiated in November 2016. German firm Fronteris GmbH, which developed the project, was in charge of construction supervision.
Trianel’s subsidiary Trianel Erneuerbare Energien GmbH & Co KG (TEE), which is partly-owned by 39 regional utilities, bought the Gebersreuth wind scheme from Fronteris in November 2016. The partnership aims to build a portfolio of ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) plants and onshore wind parks with a combined capacity of at least 275 MW by the end of 2018. More than half of the capacity has already been commissioned.
Including the Gebersreuth plant, TEE owns 113 MW of wind power capacity, according to the press release.
