Total to take over London EV charging network, green power it

September 29 (Renewables Now) - French energy major Total SA (EPA:FP) today said it has agreed to acquire the operator of electric vehicle (EV) charging network Source London from French transportation group Bollore (EPA: BOL).

Source London is a trading name of Blue Point London Ltd, which operates over 1,600 on-street charge points in London, the largest EV charging network in the city.

Total's subsidiary Total Gas & Power will supply 100% renewable energy to power the charging network.

The deal is expected to close by the end of 2020. No financial details were disclosed.

The French energy major also operates EV charging networks in Amsterdam and Brussels. The group wants to be operating over 150,000 EV charge points by 2025.
