to-the-point: Wind boosts Portugal's Nov 25 green power output
Renewable power generation in Portugal, excluding large hydro, jumped to 92.9 GWh on November 25 from 50.7 GWh in the previous day, according to data by power utility Redes Energeticas Nacionais (REN).
Wind power output for the day stood at 69.8 GWh, a 152.90% day-on-day increase. It peaked at 3,415.0 MW.
Solar photovoltaic (PV) plants produced a total of 1.6 GWh, compared to 1.7 GWh on November 24.
The share of energy from renewable sources in Portugal's gross final energy consumption should reach 31% by 2020. According to data by the EU’s statistics office Eurostat, the country had reached 25.7% as of end-2013.
