November 16 (Renewables Now) - Danish Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) on Thursday announced a conditional contract to deliver turbines for a 300-MW wind project in North America.

The wind turbine maker will release further information if and when the project turns into a firm and unconditional order, it said without disclosing the name of the contractor.

On announcing its quarterly results last week, Vestas said its order intake grew by 48% from the third quarter of 2016 to 2,615 MW in the same period this year. Mexico and the US were the main markets among the 19 contributing countries. The order backlog climbed to 10,762 MW at end-September 2017 from 8,268 MW a year back.
