The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) announced today it will provide early-stage funding to the developer of a 120-MW wind farm in southern Mozambique so it could assess the viability of the project.
The developer, called eleQtra (Mocambique) Ltd, will use the newly-signed grant to conduct a feasibility study. It has awarded this job to Texas-based WorleyParsons Group Inc, according to a press statement.
The plan is to develop the project in two 60-MW stages in Mozambique’s Namaacha District. It will be among the first wind farms in the country.
