June 13 (Renewables Now) - Wallbox, a Spanish developer of smart electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, announced today it will make a debut in the US market this July.

The official launch will take place in New York on Friday, July 12, during the fully electric car-racing series Formula E championship.

After installing over 20,000 charging units in Europe, Asia and New Zealand, the Barcelona-based company has decided to set its sights to the US where the widespread adoption of EVs is still lagging. Wallbox says that, while the EV market grew by 81% in the US in 2018, the availability of charging stations remains an obstacle for the deployment of electric mobility.
