September 10 (Renewables Now) - Sif Holding NV (AMS:SIFG), the Dutch steel tubulars manufacturer that supplies the offshore wind industry, has opened a sales office in Tokyo, Japan, to prepare itself for upcoming developments.

The move will allow the company to “respond swiftly and adequately” when job opportunities emerge, given that the Japanese government has identified 11 sites with potential for offshore wind development. Four of those, mainly located at the north-west and south-east of the nation’s main island, are undergoing geological surveys and preparatory work, it said.

Sif noted that the new Tokyo office is the first point of contact for Japanese applications.
