to-the-point: REG gets permit for 5-MW wind farm in Wales
Renewable Energy Generation Ltd (LON:WIND), or REG, said Monday it has received planning permission for its 5-MW Pen Bryn Oer wind farm in Wales.
The permit for the three-turbine project has been granted by the Planning Inspectorate after a public inquiry and is subject to the usual six week legal challenge period, according to the announcement.
The UK renewable energy company said it was in discussions with the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on the project's eligibility for the proposed revision to grace periods under the Renewables Obligation (RO) regime.
REG has a target of boosting to 300 MW within three years from 111 MW now its portfolio of operational wind, biopower and solar assets.
