to-the-point: Ontario Power Generation to buy US hydro firm Eagle Creek

August 9 (Renewables Now) - Investment firm Hudson Clean Energy Partners and some other shareholders have inked a deal to sell New Jersey-based hydropower plants (HPPs) operator Eagle Creek Renewable Energy LLC to Ontario Power Generation (OPG).

The buyer announced the deal today, but did not disclose its value. The transaction is awaiting regulatory clearance.

Eagle Creek owns and operates 76 HPPs with a combined capacity of around 230 MW. The facilities are located on 45 waterways throughout the US and sell electricity within six power pools.

Evercore is advising and representing Hudson in this transaction.
