to-the-point: Nordex passes 1 GW of Irish wind contracts

German wind turbine maker Nordex (ETR:NDX1) has surpassed 1 GW of awarded wind capacity in Ireland, the company announced last week.

This milestone was achieved last month, guaranteeing a market share of more than 30% in the country. The group has been an active player in the local market since 2002.

According to Nordex, the landscape in Ireland "is largely complex with restrictive environmental conditions and its grid code is among the most challenging and advanced in the global wind market."

Currently, the group has more than 23 GW of installed wind power capacity in over 25 markets, it noted.
