to-the-point: Navantia sends 1st two jackets for Danish demo

The first two jacket foundations for the Nissum Bredning offshore wind demonstration project in Denmark are being sent from the Fene yard in Spain, Spanish shipbuilder Navantia said on Twitter today.

Navantia announced at the start of 2017 that, in a joint venture with Windar, it has been awarded a contract by Siemens Wind Power to supply four three-legged jacket foundations and their corresponding piles for the 28-MW project. The development is a partnership between Nissum Bredning Vindmollelaug and Jysk Energi and will employ SWT-7.0-154 offshore wind turbines.

News that a final investment decision has been made for the project was unveiled in September last year.
