August 7 (Renewables Now) - Italian company Waste to Energy has proposed to build a waste-to-energy plant in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, local media report, quoting the press service of the city administration.

The Italian firm is looking to construct a waste recycling plant that can process 1,200 tonnes of solid domestic waste per day into electricity and heat. The plan was presented at a meeting with the Tashkent city administration, after which the two sides entered into an agreement on future cooperation.

The project will enable the production in the future of plastic bags, disposable tableware, furniture and other eco-products.
