Canada’s Innergex Renewable Energy Inc (TSE:INE) said on Monday it has renewed for a 40-year term BC Hydro’s electricity purchase agreement for the 7.2-MW Brown Lake run-of-river hydroelectric plant in British Columbia.
The renewed contract with BC Hydro is effective as of April 1, but is subject to clearance by the British Columbia Utilities Commission.
The Brown Lake facility is located on Crown land near Prince Rupert in the province’s North Coast region. It has been operating since 1996, producing an average 51,800 MWh per year. BC Hydro is purchasing the entire output.
