May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTNovember 15 (SeeNews) - China-based renewables major Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (HKG:2208) has launched a 3-MW smart turbine platform, specifically designed for low and ultra-low wind speed locations.
The manufacturer on Tuesday introduced the GW3S permanent-magnet direct-drive (PMDD) machines, the capacities of which range from 3 MW to 3.4 MW. They will feature rotor diameters up to 140 metres (459.3 feet).
Offering customised product features for international markets, the platform has scalable capacity, smart turbine controls and a structured design, according to the press release. The first GW3S deliveries are expected in late 2017.
