EDPR inaugurates wind storage plant in Romania

September 28 (Renewables Now) - EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) inaugurated today a battery-based energy storage facility that will store power generated by the 26-MW Cobadin wind farm in Romania.

The so-called Stocare project is the first energy storage installation in Romania, according to the announcement.

EDPR has been present in Romania since 2008 and currently has 521 MW of installed capacity there, comprised mainly of wind farms located in Dobrogea and Moldavia, and solar plants in Oltenia, the company noted.
