to-the-point: EDF EN brings 58-MW wind farm online in Poland

EDF Energies Nouvelles said today its local subsidiary EDF EN Polska has commissioned the 58-MW Rzepin wind farm in northwestern Poland.

This is the second wind farm the renewables arm of French energy group EDF SA (EPA:EDF) has brought online in Poland since it entered the market in 2012. It has also installed the 48-MW Linowo wind power facility in the country.

The Rzepin wind farm is located in the Lubuskie region and consists of 29 turbines of 2 MW each. It will be operated and maintained by another company subsidiary, EDF EN Services Polska. The wind park is expected to generate enough energy per year to meet the needs of more than 70,000 Polish homes.
