November 21 (Renewables Now) - Dutch energy company Essent NV on Tuesday said it has agreed to purchase local renewable energy marketplace Vandebron for an undisclosed amount.
The deal has to get the green light from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets.
Vandebron, which has a headcount of around 300, sells power generated from independent wind, solar and biomass projects. The company is to keep operating independently but hopes to advance in its mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy with the help of its new owner, Vandebron CEO Matthijs Guichelaar said.
Essent is owned by German energy company Innogy SE (ETR:IGY).
