to-the-point: CoreMarine, Spain's CENER to cooperate on floating wind R&D

Oslo-based marine engineering specialist CoreMarine and the National Renewable Energy Centre of Spain (CENER), a research and development (R&D) institution, have agreed to form a consortium that will support engineering processes and the development of floating wind projects from the ground up.

The focus of the pair’s agreement is on floating foundation design, mooring and dynamic cable analysis, transport and installation, wind turbine modelling, coupled analysis and scale model testing, according to a joint press release.

CoreMarine and CENER aim to make their collaboration into a one-stop shop for project developers and offer assistance starting with research and front-end engineering design (FEED) studies until it is time for installation.
