UK company Boston Energy will support Germany's Siemens AG (ETR:SIE) in the construction of the 6-MW turbines for the 402-MW Dudgeon offshore wind farm in the UK.
The UK division of Bostonair Group Ltd, an established supplier of engineers and technicians to the wind industry, said last week it will take part in the pre-assembly of the turbines at Siemens' newly-constructed facility at Alexandra Dock in Hull. Boston Energy technicians will start work on site from October.
The Dudgeon wind farm, located off the Norfolk coast in England, is owned by Norway's Statoil ASA, Statkraft and Abu Dhabi's Masdar. It will feature 67 Siemens 6-MW turbines and is due to start generating electricity in early 2017.
