to-the-point: BluEarth buys St Columban wind farm in Ontario

Canadian renewable power producer BluEarth Renewables LP has acquired the 33-MW St Columban wind farm in Ontario.

Consultancy services provider Wood Group announced the transaction on Monday, having advised BluEarth Renewables on it. The St Columban wind farm comprises 15 wind turbines supplied by Germany’s Siemens (ETR:SIE), its statement says.

BluEarth Renewables announced in September that it had finalised the acquisition of three run-of-river hydroelectric facilities in British Columbia and one wind farm in Ontario, but did not give details about the wind power facility. The specific renewables portfolio was bought from energy infrastructure firm Veresen Inc (TSE:VSN) for an undisclosed sum.
