to-the-point: Anesco, Shell join hands in UK battery storage project

January 11 (Renewables Now) - UK renewables developer Anesco has teamed up with a unit of oil and gas major Royal Dutch Shell Plc (AMS:RDSA) in a utility-scale energy storage project in Norfolk, east England.

The partnership was formed between Shell New Energies and Anesco, the latter said on Thursday. The proposed facility, the capacity of which was not provided, will be constructed at the Bacton gas terminal site.

Anesco will take care of the design, procurement, installation, commissioning and maintenance of the battery storage facility, it said without providing further details.
