to-the-point: Acciona to power Unilever’s Spanish ops with renewables for 2nd year

Acciona SA (BME:ANA) has renewed the contract with Unilever Espana SA for the supply of electricity from renewable sources to all of the consumer goods multinational’s operations in Spain.

The Spanish renewable energy company will deliver approximately 18 GWh throughout 2019 to meet the power needs of Unilever’s headquarters in Viladecans, Catalonia, the sauce factory in the Basque Country, as well as the company’s other establishments, Acciona said Wednesday.

Acciona and Unilever signed their first contract in 2018. This year’s supply will avoid around 11,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from thermal power plants into the atmosphere.
