March 5 (Renewables Now) - Australian power producer Tilt Renewables Ltd (ASX:TLT) has achieved practical completion of the 133.3-MW Waipipi wind park in South Taranaki, New Zealand, it announced on Friday.

The company has successfully finalised all primary construction works and full commissioning of the 31 units of 4.3-MW Siemens Gamesa turbines installed at the project site near Waverley. It noted that current activities there are limited to demobilisation and rehabilitation.

The particular wind park, which represents Tilt’s largest single asset in New Zealand, is estimated to be able to generate about 455 GWh of electricity per year, all of which will be sold to utility Genesis Energy Ltd (NZE:GNE) under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) signed in May 2019.
