Turner Iceni bags GBP-4m contract as part of UK offshore wind project
Apr 13, 2018 13:43 CESTApril 16 (Renewables Now) - Geotechnical services provider Fugro has completed test drilling at the locations of the 90 turbine foundations for Innogy SE's (ETR:IGY) 860-MW Triton Knoll offshore wind project in the UK.
Geotechnical drill vessel Fugro Scout carried out a three-week programme of borehole drillings, operating out of ABP's Port of Immingham on the Humber, Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm Ltd said on Friday.
The installation of monopile foundations at the project is expected in 2019. The scheme is currently working towards a financial investment decision later this summer.
The tests will provide data on seafloor and sub seafloor conditions that will support the foundations' design. UK-based engineering firm Atkins is in charge of the design work under a subcontract to lead foundations contractor Smulders Sif Steel Foundations BV.
