Tatra Banka to get EUR 40m EIB loan to support SMEs

(ADPnews) - Nov 23, 2010 – Slovak bank Tatra Banka (BTS:1TAT01DE) said today it has signed a deal for a EUR 40 million (USD 54m) credit line by the European Investment Bank (EIB) to support small and medium businesses (SMEs).

The proceeds of the credit line will be used to support energy projects, including green power, the bank said.

Slovakia should lift the share of renewable energy to 14% of its overall energy consumption by 2020 in line with EU goals. The country, which joined the EU in 2004, currently covers some 6% of its power consumption from renewable sources.
