Taaleritehdas to invest EUR 35m in 20-MW Finnish wind park

Jan 21, 2015 (SeeNews) - Finnish investor Taaleritehdas Oyj has ordered 19.8 MW of wind turbines from Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) for a EUR-35-million (USD 40.6m) wind project in western Finland.

The Finnish company said in a press release on Monday that construction work on the wind park in Alavieska will commence this week. The plant will consist of six Vestas wind turbines, each of 3.3 MW, that will be producing enough power to cover the annual electricity consumption of some 20,000 apartments, Taaleritehdas noted.

The wind park is expected to be up and running in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Taaleritehdas mentioned it has plans to erect 150 wind turbines in Finland, including 27 machines in the country's western municipality of Ii.
