Suzlon's Repower to supply 35 MW of wind turbines in UK

Dec 12, 2011 - Indian wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Ltd (BOM:532667) said today its German unit Repower Systems had secured orders for 35 MW of wind turbines for projects in the UK.

The subsidiary is to deliver five MM92 wind turbines for the 10.25-MW Earls Hall Farm wind power project in Essex, developed by Germany-based Renerco Renewable Energy Concepts AG. Construction is to kick off next summer and to be completed later in 2012. When up and running, the facility is seen to produce enough power to meet the needs of over 5,500 local households.

Repower will also supply 12 MM92 turbines to Ridgewind/HG Capital for a 24.6-MW project in North Humberside, construction of which is to commence in the spring of 2012 and be completed later in 2012. The wind farm is seen to produce enough electricity for 14,000 households, Suzlon said.
