Suzlon bags 84-MW wind turbine order from Continuum Wind
Sep 11, 2012 - Indian wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy (BOM:532667) said today it had won a deal to supply 84 MW of wind turbines to domestic power producer Continuum Wind Energy.
Under the terms of the contract, Suzlon is to deliver, install and commission 40 pieces of its S95-2.1 MW machines in the fiscal year through March 2013. The wind turbine model is tailored for low wind sites.
Suzlon did not provide additional details on the order.
The company in mid-August said it had turned to a net loss of INR 8.5 billion (USD 153m/EUR 120m) in its first fiscal quarter to June 30 from a profit of INR 835 million a year back. It said that the macroeconomic conditions, policy uncertainty in certain markets and other external factors such as the rupee's depreciation continued to dent its results.
