Suzlon bags 40 MW wind turbine order from Indian companies
Nov 23, 2012 - Indian wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy (BOM:532667) on Friday said it had received orders for 39.9 MW of wind turbines, 19 units of its S95 2.1-MW machines, from two repeat Indian customers.
Suzlon will supply 14 turbines totalling 29.4 MW to Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals (BOM:500690), or GSFC, for a project scheduled to be commissioned in the western Indian state of Gujarat by the end of fiscal year 2013 through March. The order will boost GSFC's installed capacity to 152.8 MW, the wind turbine maker said.
Five turbines with a combined capacity of 10.5 MW will be supplied to Bharat Electronics Ltd (BOM:500049) for a project in the southwestern state of Karnataka which is also due to go online by the end of fiscal 2013. The new capacity will add to the 3 MW of turbines that Bharat Electronics currently has operating in Karnataka and that have also been provided by Suzlon.
