Wind farms builder Suvic announced it is progressing well with the 58-MW expansion project for the Lappfjard wind farm in western Finland, saying it has already started casting the foundations and expects to start cabling works over the next few days.
The 192-MW Lappfjard farm was commissioned in early 2023. Suvic, which built the foundations of its current 31 turbines and internal grid, has been tapped by German independent asset manager Prime Capital AG to provide the base and integral grid for eight more installations.
The Lappfjard site, which is located in the Kristinestad municipality, will have a total capacity of 250 MW upon completion of the expansion project.
Prime Capital, which acquired the Lappfjard wind farm from CPC Finland in 2021, earlier this year signed a contract with Vestas Wind Systems for the delivery of the required additional turbines.
