Sued-Chemie to invest EUR 28m in demonstration ethanol plant - report
(ADPnews) - Sep 21, 2010 - German chemicals company Sued-Chemie AG (ETR:SUC) will invest EUR 28 million (USD 37m) to construct a demonstration second-generation ethanol plant in Germany, local newspaper Regio-Aktuell24 reported on Friday.
The project is partly funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which supported it with EUR 5 million. The Bavarian government provided a sum of the same amount.
The ethanol facility will use agricultural waste materials to produce up to 2,000 tonnes of ethanol per year. It will start operating from the end of 2011.
