ScottishPower Renewables (SPR), part of Spain's Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE), said on Friday it is seeking to progress development of its two other offshore wind projects in the East Anglia zone.
The company said it will hold public information days for the East Anglia TWO and East Anglia ONE North projects, each with a potential capacity of up to 800 MW, to gauge opinion ahead of formal consultation. The information days will take place between October 30 and November 2 in Southwold, Leiston, Lowestoft and Orford.
SPR is currently building the 714-MW East Anglia ONE offshore wind farm and recently secured development consent for the 1.2-GW East Anglia THREE project.
The announcement comes after the UK government earlier this month confirmed that up to GBP 557 million (USD 733m/EUR 624m) will be made available to support less established renewables such as offshore wind and said the next Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction is planned for the spring of 2019.
