Spanish renewable energy company Norvento Enerxia has launched a business line dedicated to the development of biogas plants and solutions for the industrial sector, it said.
Norvento has been in the biogas business since 2013, working on research and development (R&D), engineering and turnkey projects, which it now wants to bring under one roof.
The company has hired experienced engineer Javier Taibo to lead the new unit. Taibo highlighted in the press statement that the Spanish biogas market has huge potential for growth given the trajectory of the national regulatory framework and technological maturity.
Norvento plans to orient the new business towards companies in both the private and public sector to offer solutions that enable customers develop biogas projects either for power and heat production, injection into the gas pipeline or for vehicle use.
It said it will target customers in the primary sector, food processing and production and seek generators of waste with high organic load.
Taibo’s team will focus on projects on the national market in the first phase, while also looking to offer solutions abroad. The new unit will work with Norvento’s other business lines dedicated to distributed generation to offer comprehensive solution through complementary technologies, such as photovoltaic (PV) power and energy storage, the Spanish company added.
