Renewable energy sources were responsible for 33.3% of Spain’s total power production in June, Spanish grid operator Red Electrica de Espana (REE) informed on Thursday.
Wind power had a 15.6% share in Spain’s generation mix producing 3,247 GWh in June, up by 23.4% on the year.
During the first six months of 2019, renewables produced 38.4% of Spain's power.

Demand for electricity across Spain’s national territory decreased by 1.3% year-on-year to 21,329 GWh during June.
In the mainland, the power demand is estimated at 20,043 GWh, down by 1.4% year-on-year in June. The share of renewables was 34.6% with wind power producing 3,173 GWh.
In the Balearic Islands, demand in June increased by 1.1% year-on-year to 542,429 MWh. Renewables and non-emission technologies accounted for a 7.3% share of the power mix.
The Canary Islands registered a 0.1% increase in demand to 708,335 MWh during the past month. The archipelago sourced 13.1% of its electricity from renewables and other clean technologies.
