Spain includes Ence biomass plant in pre-assignment register- report

(ADPnews) - Sep 20, 2010 - The Spanish Ministry of Industry included a 50 MW biomass power plant of Spanish power utility and paper manufacturer Ence (MCE:ENC) into its pre-assignment register for renewable energy, news agency Europa Press said today.
Ence will invest around EUR 100 million (USD 130.9m) in the construction of the plant, located in Huelva, southern Spain. It will be the biggest one of this type in the country producing energy sufficient to cover the annual consumption of 400,000 people. The facility will create at least 550 jobs.
The inclusion of the plant into the pre-assignment register will give right to a state subsidy. The register is updated by the ministry every three months but only gives the right to state subsidies if the companies build their plants in a 12-month period.
On the other hand, in July, Spanish infrastructure and renewable energy company Acciona (MCE:ANA) along with home constructors OHL (MCE:OHL) and Tecnicas Reunidas (MCE:TRE) were shortlisted for the final stage of the bidding process for the construction of the plant.
