February 7 (Renewables Now) - Zurich-based renewable energy consultancy South Pole announced on Thursday it has taken over Almach Energy, a UK peer with expertise in corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) advisory services.

South Pole said in a statement that this move beefs up the company’s ability to serve the renewables sourcing market for corporate buyers, especially in the US, Europe and Australia. Following the transaction, Almach Energy’s co-founder Paul Hill will join South Pole’s team of experts.

“With Almach Energy's experts, we have added increased PPA execution power to our existing offering in order to satisfy client demands in a market that has more than doubled in the past year," said Patrick Horka, Head of Renewable Energy Solutions at South Pole.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.
