Canadian engineering and construction group SNC-Lavalin Group Inc (TSE:SNC) announced on Tuesday it has won a design and engineering contract for the 10-MW Pulau Temelong hydroelectric project in Malaysia.
The award represents the first stage of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contract by Gunung Hydropower Sdn Bhd, SNC-Lavalin said in a statement, without disclosing the value of the deal.
The Canadian company will be responsible for contract packages covering tender engineering and drawings, detailed implementation schedule, capital costs estimates, cash flow and the tender design report. Furthermore, it will assist Gunung Hydropower during the tender evaluation, contract negotiation and award.
The particular hydropower plant will be built on the Perak River in the State of Perak, where federal utility TNB owns a couple of hydroelectric facilities.
