Slovakia not to change green power purchase price in 2011 - report

(ADPnews) - Oct 26, 2010 – Slovakia will not change the purchase price of renewable energy next year, local news agency SITA reported last week, quoting a spokesman of the country’s Regulatory Office for Network Industries.

In 2011, electricity generated from renewable sources will be purchased at the prices set at the end of June this year, SITA quoted Miroslav Luptak as saying.

The Central European country of five million people should lift the share of renewable energy to 14% of its overall energy consumption by 2020 in line with EU goals. Slovakia, which joined the EU in 2004, currently covers some 6% of its power consumption from renewable sources.
