(SeeNews) - Jan 30, 2013 - Slovak company Geocom Invest intends to build a 6-MW geothermal power plant in eastern Slovakia, Slovak news agency SITA reported Monday.
The company has submitted an investment plan for an environmental impact assessment of the project to be located in Trebisov district.
The geothermal plant is expected to generate some 45,000 MWh of power a year, of which some 30,000 MWh to be sold to distributors. The cost of the project is estimated to range between EUR 40 million (USD 54.2m) and EUR 45 million, SITA said.
Geocom Invest wants to launch the project in the second half of the current year and to complete its construction in the end of 2014, according to the news agency.
