Sinovel to deliver turbines for 600 MW wind farms in China - report
(ADPnews) - Oct 15, 2010 - Chinese wind turbine major Sinovel Wind Group will deliver generators for two offshore wind farms in the Chinese Jiangsu province with a total capacity of 600 MW, Sinovel's vice president Tao Gang told today business news service Interfax-China.
The two facilities are part of a total of four wind projects with a combined capacity of 1,000 MW, tendered by the Chinese government at the beginning of September 2010. Suzlon (BOM:532667) will supply the equipment for the two larger projects to the bid winners -- China Datang Corporation Renewable Power Co Ltd, a subsidiary of state-owned utility China Datang Corporation, and China Power International New Energy Holding Ltd, the flagship company of China Power International (HKG:2380).
Turbine suppliers for the other two facilities, of 400 MW total capacity, will be Xinjiang Goldwind Science Technology (HKG:2208) and industrial equipment provider Shanghai Electric Group (SHA:601727), Tao said.
