Singapore's Triyards wins orders for three wind farm support vessels

Singapore-based engineering, fabrication and ship construction services firm Triyards Holdings Ltd (SGX:RC5) said on Thursday it has received orders for three wind farm support vessels.

Together with an order for a luxury river cruise vessel, the four new contracts are valued at a total of USD 17.8 million (EUR 15.6m). The Singaporean company did not mention the names of the customers, but noted that three of them are new clients.

“We will continue to establish a greater foothold in this sector as well as seek opportunities in addition to those in a traditional market,” said CEO Chan Eng Yew, referring to the renewable energy sector.

Each wind farm vessel built by Triyards will be equipped with either the Quad Volvo IPS or Quad WaterJet propulsion engines. They will be able to cruise at a speed of at least 25 knots, carry up to 24 passengers and lift up to 10 tonnes.
