Siemens to supply six wind turbines to project in Lithuania
(ADPnews) - Dec 23, 2010 - German engineering group Siemens AG (ETR:SIE) said on Tuesday that Estonian renewable power developer 4energia had ordered six wind turbines for a 13.8 MW wind power project in Lithuania.
The wind farm in Silale, western Lithuania, has been under construction for three months.
The investment in the project totals up to LTL 100 million (USD 38m/EUR 29m). Once completed, by the end of 2011, the farm will generate approximately 40 GWh of clean electricity, sufficient for 40,000 homes.
Tallinn-based 4energia is currently developing or managing 18 wind farms in the Baltic states. These projects have a combined capacity of 339 MW onshore and 700 MW offshore.
