Siemens to deliver 80 turbines to Dan Tysk wind farm
(ADPnews) - Oct 21, 2010 - German engineering conglomerate Siemens AG (ETR:SIE) said today it had received an order to deliver 80 wind turbines to the Dan Tysk wind farm, which will be located about 50 km (31 miles) west of the island of Sylt.
The farm is expected to start operating in 2014, Siemens said.
Dan Tysk Offshore Wind GmbH, in which Vattenfall Europe has a 51% stake and Stadtwerke Muenchen owns a 49% stake, is the contractor, Siemens added.
In addition, Siemens further announced that in the future it will also be maintaining grid connections between the mainland and wind farms on the high seas. The company received its first order in the new business from grid operator TenneT.
