Siemens Gamesa to service 184 MW of Senvion turbines in N America

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) said it has signed ten-year contracts to service 184 MW of Senvion turbines in North America.

The service agreements cover two wind farm sites populated with MM92-2.05 turbines made by the German manufacturer.

Siemens Gamesa did not disclose any details on the customer or the wind farms in Monday’s press release.

The company said it will provide remote monitoring, supply chain access and specialty tooling, design and engineering support, and software updates, as part of the service.

Since acquiring Senvion’s European onshore wind farm services business and intellectual property in January 2020, Siemens Gamesa has racked up close to 1 GW of service agreements outside of the transaction scope in the US, Canada, Australia and Europe, it said.

The turbine maker services nearly 72 GW-strong fleet worldwide, including more than 10 GW of machines from other brands.

In North America, Siemens Gamesa’s service and maintenance portfolio stands at 13 GW, the company added.
