CIP's new markets fund hits USD-1bn final close
Dec 06, 2019 10:56 CESTJuly 22 (Renewables Now) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) announced today it has received a turbine supply order for a 32-MW nearshore wind project in Vietnam.
Independent power provider Tan Hoan Cau JSC has ordered seven SG 4.5-145 turbines for the No 5 Thanh Hai 1 wind farm project off the coast of Thanh Hai commune in Ben Tre province. Moreover, Siemens Gamesa has secured a conditional contract for the supply of a further seven turbines of that same model for the second phase of the Thanh Hai project.
The wind turbine supplier will also provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the project over a period of 10 years. No 5 Thanh Hai 1 is expected to be commissioned in mid-2020.
“We are coordinating the discussions with the financing parties, which includes at this stage the Danish Export Credit Agency, an international bank and one of Vietnam’s largest banks,” commented Richard Paul Luijendijk, Siemens Gamesa Onshore CEO in APAC. He added that the company has been working on a tailored financing solution for the project for two years now.
