Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) said on Monday that it has received an order to supply its 5.X onshore wind turbines for a 70-MW project in Sweden.
Swedish renewables developer OX2 AB (STO:OX2) is the customer.
Siemens Gamesa is set to deliver 11 units of the SG 6.6-170 turbines for OX2’s Riberget wind farm project in the Ljusdal municipality. The machines, which are from the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform, will have a hub height of 115 metres to make the most of the wind speed in the area, the turbine maker said.
Riberget is due to start operations in late 2024. After that, Siemens Gamesa will be providing all maintenance services for the wind farm under a 35-year service contract.
Siemens Gamesa has so far booked over 4.5 GW worth of orders for the 5.X platform, 2.4 GW of them coming from Sweden, the company added.
