Siemens Gamesa scores 567-MW order from ReNew Power in India

January 31 (Renewables Now) – Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (BME:SGRE) will supply 270 wind turbines totalling 567 MW for two Indian turnkey projects by local independent power producer (IPP) ReNew Power, it was announced Thursday.

Under the contract, Siemens Gamesa will supply, install and commission 127 SG 2.1-122  wind turbines for ReNew’s project in Bhuj, the state of Gujarat, as well as 143 SG 2.1-122 units for the wind farm in Davanagere in the southern state of Karnataka.

The commissioning of both projects is expected in the first quarter of 2020.

Siemens Gamesa said it had over 1 GW of contracting capacity resulting from its partnership with ReNew Power.
