May 30 (Renewables Now) - Wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) on Wednesday appointed Alfonso Faubel as the CEO of the company’s onshore business, with effect from July 29, 2019.

Mark Albenze, who currently serves as the head of the onshore operations on a temporary basis, will continue in his role as the CEO of Siemens Gamesa’s Service Business Unit.

Faubel is joining Siemens Gamesa from Sentient Science, another company that serves the wind power industry, but through the provision of materials-science-based life prediction and extension technology.

At Sentient Science, Faubel served as chief revenue officer of energy and president of Europe. Before that, he held the positions of senior vice president of global sales and marketing at Alstom-General Electric and senior vice president of the Alstom Wind Business.
