Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) has booked an order to supply 105 MW of its turbines for a wind power project in Finland, the company said on Thursday.
German developer Energiequelle GmbH ordered 16 units of the SG 6.6-170 wind turbines to assemble the Mikonkeidas wind farm in the municipality of Kristiinankaupunki in the south-western part of Finland. The generators, which are part of the Siemens Gamesa 5.X platform, will be mounted on 145-metre towers to make the most of the wind conditions in the region, the turbine maker said.
Siemens Gamesa also signed a 35-year service agreement for the turbine maintenance.
The Mikonkeidas wind farm is expected to be up and running in 2024.
Siemens Gamesa has been present in the Finnish market since 1996. Mikonkeidas is the company's first ever project with Energiequelle, the manufacturer added.
