Siemens bags turbine supply order for 29-MW Swedish wind scheme
Sep 26, 2014 - German engineering major Siemens AG (ETR:SIE) said today it will supply the turbines that will make up the 28.8-MW Juktan wind farm in northern Sweden, developed by local utility Vattenfall AB.
Siemens Energy will ship nine of its SWT-3.2-113 direct-drive wind turbines, which are suited for the local weather conditions as their rotor blades feature active de-icing equipment. Under the terms of the deal, the company will also take responsibility for the maintenance of the wind park for a five-year period.
The Juktan project is located in the municipality of Sorsele and is expected to be commissioned in late 2015. Its output is estimated at about 82,000 MWh and will be enough to power some 27,500 local homes.
